We hear the word mindful more often these days. So what is it? Looking it up I found the word mindful to be defined as “being conscious or aware of something. A mental state achieved by focusing on one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts and physical sensations.”

Powerful!!! Love the words aware, achieve, calm, accept, sensations! Ahhh!

Yet…how often to we actually experience such a state? Ummmmm…hmmm?

Well for most of my life I didn’t even know such a state existed. Really I didn’t. Seems so bizarre now, after a few years now of enjoying the results of mindful living; new experiences of joy and peace, even bliss. Recognizing previously I had been spinning from one stressful situation to another…reaching for the next thing that might let me feel better or content (at least for awhile pleaaase!!!)

Then, on my path of seeking, I started asking (begging actually) for some kind of ease, peace and calm. Not that I knew what that looked or felt like truly, yet deep within I knew there had to be another way of feeling…being!?

So, in a wonderful life-changing process and practice, I am here to share. There is indeed another way…balanced, peaceful, contented living! MINDFUL LIVING!!!

Mindful living is pausing…noticing…paying attention in your present moment.

It is a process, a practice…pausing to your own intuitive exploration and awareness in making self inspired choices about how to experience the moments and days in your life. Answering the questions inside of your own self about who you want to be and how you want to feel; perhaps paying closer attention differently than you do now, or in exciting, new ways. Consciously noticing and choosing your inner intention that creates your outer experiences as you venture on your path!

I like to describe the expression of mindful living as “giving devoted attention and presence to who you are and to the ways you choose to live”.

How lovely!

Mindful living…let’s give some goooood, fabulous enthusiastic attention to who we truly are… love, peace, spirited, joyous, alive and free! And let us take some gooood fabulous notice of how we feel, show up, move, groove, create and be in the moments in our lives!

How do you define mindful living? What are some ways you experience mindful living?
